About Us
My name is Moses Macharia, the director and founder of our young tour company, based in Kenya. Our company is built on more than 20 years of hands-on experience in the East African tourism industry. Before starting this company, I worked for over two decades as a professional tour driver-guide, guiding travelers across East Africa. I bring the ground-level knowledge of a seasoned guide to the mission of Golden Green Safaris.
My journey has taken me through some of the most spectacular destinations in the region. In Kenya, I have explored iconic parks such as the Maasai Mara, Amboseli, Tsavo, Samburu, and the Great Rift Valley, as well as the beautiful Kenyan coast. I have also organized trekking on Mt. Kenya and the Aberdare Mountains. In Tanzania, I have guided safaris through world-famous destinations including the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara, and Tarangire. I have also been organized unforgettable Uganda gorilla trekking experiences, one of the most powerful and life-changing wildlife encounters in the world.
Through these years of guiding, I learned that a truly great safari is about building connection, between individuals, cultures, and with the environment. We treat our guests like family, and they leave us with a deeper understanding of their place in the world. I still personally drive as many of our guests as possible, because I truly love meeting new people and showing them the astounding beauty of my home.
